In a ceremony held in the Municipality of Melipeuco, the company also announced the launch of a security campaign for the inhabitants of the commune, called \u201cVecino Vigilante.\u201d<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Through a ceremony held at the office of the Municipality of Melipeuco, 50 students from the Cumcumllaque, Caren, Volc\u00e1n Llaima and Liceo Los Andes schools received educational scholarships with a focus on basic, middle, and superior education, assigned by the Scholarship Program Studies of the renewable energy generator, Latin America Power (LAP).<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The activity included the participation of the representative of the Seremi de Energ\u00eda de la Araucan\u00eda, Fernando Figueroa, the director of the Municipal Education Administration Department, Johnny Ceballos, Carabineros of Chile, representatives of INACAP Temuco along with directors, parents, and students of the different educational establishments.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Since 2014, the LAP scholarship program has benefited more than 350 students of Melipeuco, through a benefit whose main objective is to promote education in the area. The initiative seeks to help basic, middle, and higher education students so that they can buy materials, technological implements, books, and different items.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

In this regard, the director of the Department of Municipal Education Administration, Johnny Ceballos Cid, emphasized the importance of these initiatives for the future of the young people of the commune, and that as a municipality they hope to continue managing, promoting, and supporting these types of benefits. \u201cThese scholarships come to collaborate and contribute directly to our students and their families, so that they continue on their educational path, continue to strive, and so that with these benefits they receive a grain of sand for their dreams and even for their professional careers in the world.\u201d case of higher education students. This is what ultimately matters most to the families and to us, because in this way the quality of life of the citizens of Melipeuco will increasingly improve.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Along with awarding scholarships, during the activity, recognition was also given to five students from Liceo Los Andes, who were part of the initiatives that were developed within the framework of the \u201cMe Sumo\u201d project, an initiative promoted by LAP since 2021, together with the National Student Environmental Certification Service (SNCAE) and the Municipality of Melipeuco.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Sustainability Manager of Latin America Power, Jos\u00e9 Salgado, highlighted the collaborative work in which students from different establishments have participated. \u201cThe Environmental Certification Program has been a banner of the work that has been developed, and the progress that has been achieved in the commune in terms of environmental education. That is why we wanted <\/span>to recognize the role of the students, who in the last year demonstrated a strong commitment and enthusiasm to learn and continue expanding their knowledge in caring for the environment,\u201d said the LAP executive.<\/span><\/p>\n

Finally, with the aim of ensuring the safety of the inhabitants of the commune, the \u201cVecino Vigilante\u201d campaign was launched, an initiative of Latin America Power together with the Municipality of Melipeuco and Carabineros of the commune, which seeks to achieve collaborative work between the inhabitants of Melipeuco in reporting suspicious events and acts through common contact tools that will be delivered through this initiative.<\/p>\n

La empresa de generaci\u00f3n de energ\u00eda renovable, Latin America Power (LAP) present\u00f3 su Reporte de Sostenibilidad 2021 que contempla las acciones realizadas en sus m\u00e1s de diez proyectos en operaci\u00f3n, junto con su participaci\u00f3n con 42 comunidades tanto en Chile como en Per\u00fa.<\/p>

De esta forma, la compa\u00f1\u00eda inform\u00f3 sobre sus aportes en distintas materias ligadas con el desarrollo econ\u00f3mico y social de las comunidades donde participa, en l\u00ednea con su compromiso por acelerar las transformaciones en el sector para un futuro sostenible.<\/p>

Este nuevo reporte es resultado de tres meses de elaboraci\u00f3n y un amplio n\u00famero de entrevistas a distintos colaboradores, proveedores y clientes en Chile y Per\u00fa, demostrando que la compa\u00f1\u00eda contribuy\u00f3 con nueve de los diecisiete Objetivos de Desarrollo Sostenible (ODS) de la Organizaci\u00f3n de las Naciones Unidas, en base a un trabajo centrado en los fondos de inversi\u00f3n con foco en las comunidades, la educaci\u00f3n para el desarrollo sostenible, una gesti\u00f3n al desarrollo local y el cambio clim\u00e1tico con foco en educaci\u00f3n ambiental<\/p>

Al respecto, el gerente general de Latin America Power, Diego Hollweck destac\u00f3 que \u201ceste reporte de sostenibilidad es el reflejo del trabajo que estamos realizando, junto con la dedicaci\u00f3n que todos quienes formamos parte de LAP hemos puesto en generar un impacto positivo en la comunidad y hacer de nuestro quehacer un beneficio para el medioambiente y el mundo en general. Estamos seguros y convencidos de nuestra labor, con una visi\u00f3n de negocio sostenible que tiene como idea central lograr un equilibrio entre el desarrollo empresarial, el respeto al medioambiente y la contribuci\u00f3n a las comunidades donde operamos\u201d.<\/p>

Al mismo tiempo, durante el 2021 la empresa decidi\u00f3 asumir un nuevo desaf\u00edo, a trav\u00e9s de la medici\u00f3n de la huella de carbono corporativa, que consiste en la evaluaci\u00f3n de las emisiones de gases de efecto invernadero (GEI) que emiti\u00f3 la empresa a trav\u00e9s de Carbononeutral quienes utilizaron un software especializado en la materia. \u201cLa medici\u00f3n es una herramienta esencial de nuestro compromiso ambiental, por ello decidimos ir m\u00e1s all\u00e1 con este tremendo desaf\u00edo, agreg\u00f3 el gerente de Sostenibilidad de Latin America Power, Jos\u00e9 Salgado.<\/p>

\u00a0Actualmente Latin America Power aporta con m\u00e1s de 340 MW de energ\u00eda limpia a las matrices de Chile y Per\u00fa, mediante distintas fuentes de energ\u00eda, como hidroel\u00e9ctrica, e\u00f3lica y solar. Por otro lado, sus operaciones en Chile se encuentran en las regiones de Atacama, Coquimbo y La Araucan\u00eda, mientras que en Per\u00fa las operaciones est\u00e1n ubicadas en los departamentos de Jun\u00edn y Ancash.<\/p>
