These are different infrastructure initiatives with high social impact for the commune.
Last week the HSSE management of Latin America Power (LAP) participated in the first meeting of the Convergence Table for Local Development of Freirina, an initiative led by the municipality, mayor and Municipal Council, sponsored by Latin America Power (LAP) and articulated by Fundación Huella Local. The objective of the instance is to put the private sector at the service of the needs of the community, with public infrastructure projects, developed together with the municipal team.
This alliance seeks to encourage investment and cooperation in the territory, based on the social innovation model promoted by Huella Local.
On the occasion, the portfolio of projects prioritized by the municipality for 2023-2025 was presented, focused on the improvement and construction of infrastructure with high social impact in different locations of the commune, which will leverage a total investment of 5,200 million pesos. Specifically, the companies, together with participating in the work group, will contribute resources to design the works, the execution of which will be financed by different public funds.
After the meeting, the Sustainability Manager of Latin America Power, José Salgado, stressed that "we are convinced that these strategic axes will be essential to comprehensively promote the different activities that seek to generate a high social impact for the development of Freirina. It fills us with pride to be part of this work group, since, as an actor present in the area, we have always had the conviction that public-private alliances are a great resource to achieve the development of projects that benefit the communities, with the participation of multiple actors”.
The deputy director of Huella Local, Álvaro Castro, made a call to the companies. “We want the private world to join this collaborative alliance so that they contribute to local development, through a contribution to the design of relevant projects for Freirina. Today we are reviewing the portfolio of prioritized initiatives to start working on them soon,” he said.
This is the first step of the private-public alliance in Freirina, once the companies confirm their incorporation into the Convergence Table for the Development of Freirina, work will begin on the designs of each of the prioritized projects.
