During the annual assembly of members of the World Energy Council Chile (WEC) held on April 12, the Commercial Manager of Latin America Power (LAP), Óscar Morales, was elected for the second consecutive term as a member of the board of directors of this platform, which brings together high-level leaders from the public and private sectors, with the aim of raising awareness and contributing to decision-making to achieve a sustainable energy system for Chile.
In this regard, Morales stressed that "for our company it is of utmost importance to continue participating in an institution where initiatives to achieve a secure, sustainable and equitable energy supply are discussed between various public and private actors. That is why my voice on the board will seek to share LAP's diverse experiences in the supply of renewable energy to the Chilean electricity system, respecting environmental regulations and promoting the integral development of the communities surrounding our generation plants."
In this way, LAP's Commercial Manager will assume this position for the period 2024 -2026, a role he previously held last year, when he was also elected partner of the month in December 2023.
Over the next three years, Latin America Power will support different programs that WEC-Chile is currently running, such as Women in Energy, Kids & Energy and WEC Café. "These programs will have a long-term impact on the energy sector, considering that they aim at a transformation of its human capital, of the culture of energy use, and the search for new regulatory and technological schemes," Morales concluded.
