Following an external audit process carried out by SGS, LAP validated its generation of electrical energy from renewable hydro and wind sources until 2026, including transmission and marketing facilities for institutional and free clients.
After the Latin America Power (LAP) Integrated Management System received the ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015 and ISO 45001:2018 certifications from SGS in 2022, at the end of 2023 the same organization delivered the ISO certification 55001:2014, with which it certified the company's Asset Management System until November 2026, thus reinforcing its Integrated Management System.
After the external audit process developed by the Swiss company, a world leader in inspection, verification, analysis, certification and training services, LAP achieved the certification of a standard that validates its generation of electrical energy from renewable sources. hydraulic and wind, including transmission and marketing facilities for institutional and free clients.
Furthermore, the development, implementation and integration of an asset management framework based on ISO 55001:2014 demonstrates to regulators, clients and insurers that the organization manages its performance, risks and costs effectively and efficiently.
In this regard, the general manager of Latin America Power, Esteban Moraga, commented that “this new certification, this time of our Asset Management System, brings more value to the business every day, further reinforcing adherence to legal compliance with our main regulatory reference. Likewise, it shows that we are on the right path, providing a quality service and with real commitments in social matters, in the well-being and health and safety of our collaborators, along with respect and care for the environment.”
Other benefits of the standard are that it allows opportunities to be efficiently managed and improved sustainability, making it easier for the organization to achieve performance and social responsibility expectations, as well as favoring the return on investment and the way in which it will be measured, reducing costs without sacrificing organizational performance.
Finally, Moraga stressed that LAP will seek to “continue challenging our standards and strengthening our Integrated Management System, also ensuring the effectiveness of our protocols.”
